We found that our riding areas were decreasing around the Houston Area and the small Cities that we love so well.  I and a few others knew parts of the Sam Houston National Forest really well and others know the River areas, so we combined our efforts and extended our trail and water riding ranges along with a healthy dose of "formal" trail rides.

In effect this allows for individuals to meet, form riding buddies or groups, enjoy our National Forest, and to give trail advice (location, length and time to ride) the trails.   So far our membership comes from all areas.  Individuals searching for a riding buddy to small family groups that just want to learn the trails and other groups that join by referral.  Please remember that anyone is welcome to join.

This is an active group of riders and you are welcome to join us at any ride.  Different members know different trails and then there are those who just like to do the benefit or formal rides.  Some folks just like to participate in the group discussions and that is an acceptable form of participation as well.

Many of us are also Airport Rangers and assist in Homeland Security to keep our friends and family safe.  Please see the tab and consider joining.

        Training on the trails as we all want sound (mentally and physically) trained horses.    Nutrition,  General health issues &  Events that affect our trail mount.

Listings:  

        Any Benefit, Formal or Ranch Ride to let others know when and where by placing this information in the CALENDAR which is located on the TTRG (Texas Trail Riding Group ~ yahoo site).

        All trails in Texas - including good places to ride in and along rivers that have good public access.

What we try to do:

This site is for equine trail riders and we need to try and keep close to topic. We like to hear about new foals & horses for sale, list them then have folks email privately, IM or better yet use the Wiki feature (database).  You can also ask to have your horse or item for sale listed on the website.

This is a family site so no slamming, flaming or offensive language is tolerated and moderators have absolute authority.
